Seems like a good combination of features, durability and price. Thanks for posting; I've been looking for something like that.

Do you (or does anyone) feel strongly about the ball head vs. the 4-way pan tilt head? After reading the review the pan-tilt seems somewhat preferable to me, but I've never used a ball head before.

This is the one I picked up for my S230.
It's small, convenient to carry and I find the ball swivel nice to use.
