I was almost too close! Not sure if I like the crop. The runner was off center in the image and I didn't have a full shot of his legs.

Did you perform any noise reduction? If not, I am ready to upgrade to MIII. I like the shot cropped as is.

Thanks. Yes it was a night game. I did use the Noiseware default setting to help reduce the noise. Considering the poor lighting, I thought it turned out pretty good.

PS Just got home from that same field with another 1000 shots from today's games.

How was the noise before Noiseware? Man, do I want a 1D Mark III. Nice shot and nice color.

Crop is fantastic. Especially with the umpire in the BG. I'll ask too; what NR did you use on the shot? Also, was this a night game under the lights?

The game was a night game about 7:45pm CST.

The backstop is brick/concrete wall for the first 20 - 28 inches, then the rest of the backstop is green nylon net. I have field access but some of my better shots are from either side of the baseline and shot thru the net at the batter or runners. Usually when on the field, I hang out around the far end of the dugout and switch sides ocassionally especially if the base running is going good. I move to the 3rd base side by walking around behind the backstop/stands.

Here's a pic showing the brick backstop and green net. By the way, this was the game winning hit that came with the team down by a run in the lst inning and time running out. Two runs scored to win the game. It's not very sharp. Must have been camera shake because the wind was blowing about 20mph and made the camera seem like a sail.

That makes sense about the field access. Trying to get that glass past the field marshalls would have been a task.

Just a simply beautiful shot dude. beautiful !
