Spent a few weeks working on my Gimbal head. First attempt and it needs a powder coating! Works fine with the 10D and the Bigmos! See if I can take some pictures of the stars tonight if the weather is clear.
It is mostly made of 6061T Aluminum.

I finally found time to mask it off and get it powder coated!
150-500 with the old 10D.

WOW! I can't believe this. Where's the duct tape? All my DIY projects always include some duct tape,chewing gum,globs of glue etc.:D

I didn't expect that. I was all set to see a real cobbled together mess that I wouldn't trust a disposable camera on. Excellent work!!

That's sweet!! Shame to cover up that work with powdercoat, anodizing would have made it easier for us peons to drool on. Again, smokin job!!!

It is balanced. I just swung it up for the photo.
Thanks everyone for your comments. I won't make a production run till I worked out an economical way to make them.
It weighs 3 lbs 6 oz.
Thinking it was aboot 4 hours of time.
