I use Photoimpact, so if you use the PS lingo I may not understand it. But I played a little with this image that I took. I would like to get your opinions.

Its a good picture, I think the first or the last one looks best, hard to tell though.

Hard to pick one, but I like the first one best, because if anything, it looks cozier.

Which looks best hmmm

That all depends on what you want to say, if your talking rustic white witch then the top one, it looks quite cute, I'd maybe weave some photoshop magic to bring out the contrasts, but keep the colour.

If I want sinister Blair style witch then number three has nailed it.. full of black regions, not too high value.

For me sepia or warm filters make things look warm, or evoke old charm, not recommend for very much else. It's good that you're taking control of your digital images - don't be afraid to experiment.

the first one is the best.
if you want better black and whites you should fix up the contrast on the first photo then convert to BW.

As much as I love B&W, I tend to think the first one is the best. I tend to agree that the B&W needs more contrast.

Thank you for your comments. I wanted to see what this picture could tell in different tones. When I placed sepia color it reminded me of the "old west" for some reason, and the black & white felt a bit sinister. I guess the color can bring emotions.
