Here's a neck strap idea for those who want to keep these small & portable cameras "small and portable".

I have been looking for a neck strap that is just like the fabric/nylon wrist strap that comes with the camera, except larger. I like how small these straps are, that they can literally scrunch down to miniscule size. Makes tossing the entire camera into your pocket just as simple as if the strap wasn't there.

I don't like the metal neck strap that Canon makes for the Elph series. Doesn't reduce down in size like the fabric/thin nylon type, and besides, it's metal for God sake! Nothing like scratching the heck out of that new camera case huh?

Well, I learned that finding the type of strap I'm speaking of is definitely easier said than done! BUT, I did find EXACTLY what I was looking for, available right over the Internet, at the RIGHT price. First, I learned this type of neck strap is not called a "neck strap". It's called a "lanyard". A fancy name for a very small & thin wrist or neck strap, like that used for referee whistles and the like. The type I was looking for is the kind that has an attachment loop of fabric on the end, and does not have any metal that can scratch the camera. Again, something just like the wrist strap, except larger.

Where else should it be available? Within the Garmin GPS replacement parts area, that's where...

Here's what I got:

It's the left most lanyard, and it's 17.5 inches long - just right for a neck strap. It normally used to hang Garmin's GPS receivers from a users neck. Found it perfectly cheap enough too. Just $4.95, and with shipping of $4.95, it's at my door for $10.00. Here's where I purchased from:

Hope this might help out others with similar needs!
