It was an incredible sight! You couldnt ask for better conditions. Totally clear sky...

Impressive, the shuttle launches must be spectacular, i've been to Florida a few times but never been there when there's been a launch, it's on my list for things to photograph,maybe one day

Exactly...from then on it will be hitchhiking a ride from the Russians version of the space shuttle :cool:.

Actually there will be a "new" shuttle from what I have heard and read, but it will look more like the Apollo style of rocket, with multi-stages to accomplish the same task as the shuttle. After tonight's launch there are only 8 shuttle launches to go.
