Dell XPS 430 from Best Buy .... Nice.

Just a little update.

Picked up a from Best buy:
Dell XPS Quad Core (Q8300) w/ 6 gig of RAM on Vista for Home (SP1).
ATI Graphics card - 256 meg.
750 Gig Hard drive.
Nice Tower box w/ good air flow.
Fans are very quite.

I run LR 2.3 and Noiseware currently.

I have been testing out 50D RAW files.
Lightroom is very responsive.

So far no issues (knock on wood).

At this point, I would not hesitate to recommend this system if you do not want to biuld your own.

yea.. i was looking at that pc too.. but i ended up with IBUYPOWER and spent another 800 bucks on top.. ha ha.. so not really a bargin..

i am sure your machine will serve you well for the next 3 years !!

I have that same machine (and camera), but with 4GB RAM. Still just as punchy as it was when I first got it. Typically have LR, FF and sometimes WoW running and none of them have any lag issues.
