Hi everyone,
I have got a rare opportunity to photograph my local fire service for the next 4 weeks. I am looking to cover a whole range of areas with them and I have the chance to shoot an exercise in total darkness next week.
It will be a search and retrieve exercise, and I had thought about getting hold of an infrared camera, setting up a trigger, and an infrared lamp in the room with the dummy casualty, and seeing if I could get some shots of the firemen searching the area by hand and recovering the dummy without the use of any visible light.
A couple of questions
1 Has anyone else tried anything like this before?
2 Does anyone have an infrared canon camera that I could hire for the day? I can leave a deposit or exchange the use of some long lenses in return.
3 I believe that IR normally needs a long exposure, can this be countered by a more powerful IR light source in the room?
4 Can anyone recommend / hire me an IR lamp that is capable of giving enough light to expose the sensor, but is invisible to the human eye?
Any advice or help is appreciated,
Thanks
Gary
