or do others think there should be a sticky/FAQ in here for total newbies on how to basics like proper editing/compressing/resizing for uploads to youtube or vimeo?

i tried some searches but to honest got nowhere...

editing is just something you'll have to learn on your own, theres no tutorial that will cover everything but if you just want to know the basics, google has a million tuts for a million different programs so putting one sticky would have to cover all those programs. i recomend sony vegas, its prety easy to learn non-linear editing on it, and it does advanced things when you want to get better like masking and different compositing modes.

when your done there are so many options on what format you want to export in, size, compression rates, and youtube tells you the recomended specs, although it does support many more
