Folks, give me your best recommendations as to where and how cheaply I can buy a NEW U.S. Canon G3 so I don't get screwed. Your recommendations and personal experiences are appreciated. I saw one site where its 625 and their (directsource.com) says $599.99. What say you? Repy to: KMil123@msn.com
Thanks!

My recommendation is to just buy the camera and get using it! You will not worry about 25.00 either way when you see the results and the enjoyment you will have.

I have always had great service, availabltiy and pricing with B&H Photo in NY. The URL is: http://www.bhphotovideo.com
If you are looking to compare prices and vendors that include shipping charges I use PriceGrabber. The URL is: http://www.pricegrabber.com
I recently (3 days) ago received my G3 that I purchased from B&H. The price was very about $725, shipping was resonable, and the camera arrived early, in perfect condition and work great.
B&H is very clear about telling you if merchandise USA warranty or International warranty; unlike other places.
We weary of eCost, they have a very difficult return policy. B&H's is fair and I have never had a problem with it.
If you need more info drop me note.
Best,
Jonathan

Dear KMil,
If you haven't purchased your camera yet - www.digitaletailer.com in Brooklyn, NY sells them for $547 and have a reasonable accesory kit as well for $179 including a 256MB flash card, case, xtra battery, card reader.
Prices above are exclusive the 8% local tax.

You can actually pick it up directly at warehouse as well, my brother just called me 1 hour ago, as he was down there picking my new G3 up

BH Photo has it for $609, they are well known and I believe the shipping is free. I would purchase it there. Wherever you make your purchase from make sure you get a US warranty and a reasonably priced extended warranty, I believe BH has the extended warranty for $60. Sometimes the best price is not as important as the dealer/seller, make sure they are reputable. So whatever you decide, good luck.

Another vote for B&H in NYC. I've used them for over 10 years and never had a problem. I only use online ordering now that we have this new fangled internet thingy.

Serious Buyer,
Use Dell. They are offering 10% off on everything.
699 minus discounts. I ordered on Wednesday. I got it today, Friday. I looked at every site for 3 days. I priced it at all of the highest rated online stores. Dell is the only one that had it in stock. They said they could deliver and they did. No pressure on accessories. A two day turn around is great. I also ordered an extra battery, 128 memory card, USB reader, and camera case. All came today. Good luck.

Thanks, jscher2000 for this link:

You're right; it did curl my hair.
Fortunately, I had already done a lot of research and weeded out the companies that I read were not very reliable. I just bought today from NWV Direct. They of course, tried hard to sell me the Crystal Optics lenses and filters but I refused. I got the camera for $544.14 which included shipping.
I hope that they prove as reliable as the ratings (>250) on Pricegrabber.com. They say I should receive it in ~8 business days. We'll see.
