I know that it's very important to raise the value to minimize or eliminate shutter vibrations. However, I also recalled reading that after a certain period of time, regardless of whether the mirror is raised or not, the image should still be sharp provided a good tripod/ballhead setup is used. Does anyone here happen to know at which shutter speeds would raising the mirror be of any use to me?

Mirror lock up is most effective in the range of 1 second to 1/60.
