Was waiting for a woodpecker to land on a tree, but suddenly a squirrel showed up

Kramer is from the sit com "Seinfeld" (sp)? He is a tall guy with goofy hair. It is an American show.

Awesome shots! What a beautiful Red Squirrel. What country are you in? These little guys are now very rare here in the UK.
Photos taken in The Netherlands. They are not very rare here. But as those animals are rather shy it is very difficult to get photos like the ones posted.
It is a real wild squirrel so no feeders or zoo animal.

Sheldon, visited your pbase galary. Seems to me you know what you are doing !
What a nice photos, I'm very impressed by the owl photos.
I like nature photography landscape and wildlife (deer, fox, birds etc).
I have a 70-200 f4, but for wildlife I want/need more reach.
Normally I walk through the field or wait on a certain spot from which I know something should happen.
Would you be so kind to give me a practical advice which lens will suit me the best.
