Keyword Searching Possible

I've downloaded and have been studying how to install EE while I patiently wait for my hosting service to set up mySQL db. I've been looking at the search feature in EE and had the following question:

Is it possible to change one of the fields, say the "Type of Camera" field to a "Keywords" field? Also could someone then be able to search by keyword?

I have no background at all in html or php or mySql so I don't know how hard this is to do.
