I took a little drive down south yesterday and stopped in at the old Salt Palace on the south shore of the Great Salt Lake to view and tour the rebuilt Salt Palace. It was constructed from an old aircraft hanger, so the beams have character, along with the reenforced beams that were added later. This is the third or perhaps fourth in a long history of buildings in this approximate location with this name. I found the roof beams to be the saving grace of the place . . . so here are a couple of samples of same.

The first one is great... sort of reminds me of a pic I took like that. Only it was the inside of a grass hut in Dominican.

That is a grass hut? I like the confusion of the second . . . no real reason, just personal likes in such things. I thought the forum would be more receptive to the first, lol. It will be interesting to see how the taste's run on this topic.

Interesting shots. I have no favorite, they both show the strength of the trusses. I'd be more interested in the outside of the building, or even the working interior.

I like the repetititve abstract nature of the first one!
