I am an acknowledged sucker for textured old wood. Items that have seen many seasons change and performed a job in the elements. That dark red tint . . . the bleeding of the wood, always interests me.

Perhaps there is a following here that has regard for such?

Thank you guys . . . and perhaps this piece of wood has seen a fire or even two in it lifetime. I am sure it has a great many stories to tell. This was part of a preserved homestead that was first constructed in 1848. I don't think this piece is quite that old . . . but would be at least a hundred years or so. Those stains of color . . . I just love them.

My kind regards as always . . .

Absolutely! Although for whatever reason I'm fascinated with tree bark. Attached is a picture of a russian olive growing in my parents' front yard.

I have roll after roll of B&W film with nothing but treebark. I always figured I was strange. Well, I am. But anway, I haven't used my digital for many of them.

Nice picture! The tones, contrast, and sharpness are all spot-on!

That is beautiful. The wood just exudes a rich warmness and the texture is palpable. Fantastic.

You've managed to incorporate dynamism and movement in a still-life by careful framing and composition. Well seen and well captured.

Well my kindest thanks to lovers of 'Would' How surprised am I to find anyone else in the world that would give this 'Not' a second look . . . it is a zoom in with my 100-400 but not a macro. A tiny selection at the long end of my lens. This is a full frame shot, not cropped or such. I too shoot tree bark . . . .lol. Glad there are other abstracts lovers of nature out there in the world.

I am just flabbergasted . . . I thought I would get hammered for this one aka no response, lol.

You folks are the greatest.

My kind regards as always.
