First attempt at pics of moving aircraft at the airport this weekend - lotsa fun !
Not exactly ideal weather conditions (overcast skies), but I wanted to get a feel for it.

Not bad for your first attempt. A couple of things to remember (believe me, I didn't do it the first few times either). Make sure you have the entire aircraft in the frame. There's clipping on the right side in the last 2 images.

Yea Kevin - I was shooting through a small opening by an airport fence gate. It was that, or try and shoot through the chain link fencing, arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh !
. . . appreciate the the tip and encouragement ! :)

A slower shutter speed for choppers will get you better rotor blur:
Airshow guys - prop freeze? (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=229542)

Sorry, but in the "Share" areas IMAGE POSTING RULES (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=74718) only allow 2 attachments by the OP per thread, OR 8 embedded (linked) images, or a combination of both totaling 8. (Maximum 1024 pixels on any side.) You can always just post a link to more, though, or better yet, post a link to a gallery so we don't have to click on each image link.
Some exceptions are "Show Me...", "Post your best...", equipment reviews, Tutorials, etc.

Hey Rivman, which location did you use to shoot those 2 planes?

Hey Rivman, which location did you use to shoot those 2 planes?
Hey Sypher - The first two were shot on Leitrim Road near the approach path to runway 32, it's probably the best location to get sunny morning or afternoon pics of arrivals. There is another location near the end of runway 25 (Alert Road) which is good for afternoon arrival shots. Departure shots (which I removed) are not that easy to get as most of the field is surrounded with chain link fencing - so your shooting through the gaps, which is a pita !
