Took these week ago. It was really nice day, -9C, sun was shining, no wind, excellent day for shooting.
After 2 serious accident involving many drivers the race was stopped as it was getting too dark. Nothing serious really, broken femur, concussion...

Nice work, good sense of speed and beautiful light. #5 and 7 are my favourites (though I would crop #7 just a bit from the top to get rid of the people in the background).

Thanks for the comments.
Tessa, I really appreciate your criticism but if I crop it even more, it will get too tight for my taste.
I agree with you that people on BG does not look that great so I should have used clone tool to fix that problem ;)

You're right, my bad ;)

PS! What lens did you use?

I shot these with 100-400. I normally use 70-200 for sports but I needed extra reach so took that pump action with me :D

Nice photos! Colors are very vibrant. For the ice-racing, don't they use spikes and/or protruding nails on the the motorcycle tires for better traction?

A great set of images, 3 & 5 really stand out for me although 5 could do with a little more shadow detail imo.

Were there any jumps or is it more like speedway?

Thanks. They sure do use spikes for extra grip. Here is one more shot. Can you do that angle on ice without spikes? ;)

Cheers.
The track was flat but not an oval shape. Jumps would be cool but maybe they are too dangerous as they use very long and sharp spikes on tires. If I remember right drivers are allowed to use max 1" long spikes.
You dont want anybody to drive over you with tires like that :D
This happens when somebody drives on you if you fall http://www.quadracingfinland.com/files/imgs/Marko/IMG_0580.jpg

Great images, 3 and 5 are my favorites. I bet the spiked tires can create some serious ouch!!
