This may seem like a real dumb question, but is the D60 a step up, or a step down, from the 300D. If I understand what I read correctly, the D60 is 6MP, the 300D 6.3MP. Frankly, I don't think that's an enormous problem.

Aside from that, are there other features that one has that the other does not?

Thanks...

Steve

D60 is slightly older. It has a bigger buffer for shooting a fast sequence. It's sensor resolution is exactly the same as the Digital Rebel. 6=6.3 for round numbers. When it hit the market, it was intended as sort of a semi-pro body.

The Digital Rebel has a simplified user interface for a high-end consumer market. It is lighter in weight. I believe some minor improvements were made in image processing, but the old D60 had a few minor but serious tricks up its sleeve, and more flexibility in minor ways.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the sensor in the Drebel was called the "digital trinity". I think that might be because the exact sensor was being used in its their camera body?

I think it is right to say the 300D is a step down from the D60... take from that what you will
