Hello Lads and Lasses
I've been looking at the lensmate for my G10 and it seems a tad expensive, although I'm sure it is a quality product.
Has any one had any experience with this product?

Not sure how how to go the direct page but they have a lens adaptor for A$24 (Australian dollars).
I now you get what you pay for but I'm curious if anyone has direct experience of this lens.

Cheers

Your link directs to the start page, searching for G10 components brings more than one match for converter adapters.
But anyway, my experiences whith adapters other than the ones from Lensmate are not that good. The deciding point for me is, how good the bayonette fits. It has to fit just smooth and not wiggling, otherwise the cameras body will get damaged sooner or later, especially with heavy glas put on it. Saving money at the adapter may become a costly trail...

I bought one a while ago from these guys, but for use with a lens hood and filters, rather than a teleconverter. It seems pretty good so far. There is slight rotational play where it attaches to the body, but that is as much due to the G10 as it is the adapter. There is no other play in the mounting. All in all I'd have no qualms about recommending one although, if you search on ebay, you can find some other people selling what looks to be an identical item for slightly less money.

Thanks for the replies.

Piet: With the rapid move on with technology Do you not think the camera will be outdated before the the camera will be too damaged? And I only intend to use a filter anyway.

Keel,

it's a classic "it depends on"...
For filter use only, the mechanical impact on the bayonette is small. If you handle it carefully it will last (nearly) forever. With a heavy glass (e.g. teleconverter) mounted and often used, you'll see the wear and tear.
