I THINK its compatyiable with both Type A and Type B EOS flashes, which are the EX and the EZ series flashes

Any EX flash, from starting with the 420EX up the 580EX II, will be compatible with the ST-E2. Some aftermarket EX compatible flashes, like the Metz 58 AF-1c, might be, also, but to what extent, I can't say.

Yes, the Qflashes with the QNexus module are compatible, too.

Sigma 500 & 530 DG Super will work, not sure about the DG ST's models.

The ST models are not ST-E2 compatible.

Does this mean the Sigma 500 & 530 Supers will also work if a 580EXII is the commander?

Yes, definitely as long as they are the Canon ETTL versions.

420ez works with st-e2?
Nope! Only EX series flashes, beginning with the 420EX and up, are compatible with the ST-E2.
