here are my 1st HDR attempts, these were taken handheld, so some blurring there...

thanks. i'm having great time playing around with this
i use photomatix, it has bunch of features/settings, i'm still trying to find the settings which i like better

Looks good! How you process your HDR's is a matter of taste and style. I personally like to turn up the light smoothing to "high" or "very high" to eliminate haloing, but others like to keep the light smoothing low to give it more of that surreal/painting look. Either way, your images came out nice and sharp with plenty of detail, so nice work!
