I'm headed to Whistler BC for some mountain Bike Fun, and do not want to take my canon 40D and lenses with me.
I previously owned a Lumix LX3, it was an okay camera, but for sports it was terrible.
I'm now strongly looking at a g10... Can you guys show me a few Sports pictures taken with the G10?

I don't think a G10 will do what you need. It does well with stationary subjects, but moving targets are difficult to nail. There's always some shutter lag, so you'd have to anticipate the target, pre-focus, and hope for the best.
Take the 40D and the zooms, IMO.

While a Dslr may be ideal for sport, I don't think you'll find many other point and shoots that rival the G10. The only exception is the zoom, if your shooting from afar you may want to go for one of the canon superzooms (sx10 or upcoming sx1).

I am so jealous that you're heading up to B.C. to ride... I was scheduled to go in July but plans were changed so I'll have to cruise local riding for the time being. Roadtrip? I hope so.
Anyways, I think it depends on what kind of riding/situation you want to take pictures in. Under the trees, hitting the singletrack or up and down the mountain all day in what looks like decent lighting (based on pics I've seen)? Just landscapes or with riders flying through the frame?
I think under the trees in poorer lighted situations the G10 would not suffice. If you just want to capture some of your buds flying down the mountain and hitting some jumps AND there's good light.... then it may meet your standards.

Ryandood, the shots i plan on taking are like these:

While these pictures were taken with my 40D i don't expect the images taken a Canon g10 to come out as Crisp as a DSLR... but i want something that i can trow in my CamelBack and snap a few shots from time to time..... and something Decent.... I just don't want to lug my zooms and body all the way to BC and not use them for anything....
I might hold off on it and pick up a Lumix ZS3, shoots AVCHD videos as well @ 720P ad has a ZOOM.....

Or i may pick up the Sony DSC-H20 which also shoots 720P video and has a zoom....

I figured these are what you expected to shoot...and I still don't think the G10 will do the job. The instantaneous capture of the DSLR means just that...the subject is in the frame, not blurry, all variables tight. I'll be shooting my son-in-law (he rides for Colavita) in cyclo-cross and road races this year, and I just MIGHT take the G10 to try it out, but I expect the
REAL results with my 30D and various lenses.
At any rate, good luck with your search. I'd be interested to see what you end up with, and how well it works!
Regards!

Maybe you could borrow or rent some of the prospective cameras and try 'em out on moving targets?

I think you could take pictures like the first two you posted but definitely not like the last one. Nice pic btw.
