Sweet quality, but im sure that you already knew this. Your shooting with a canon. What lenses did you use?

for the first 2 i used the tamron
the last i used the kit lens, ugh... i SERIOUSLY need a super wide non-fish lens
Odd you say that retro, most people say the background is way too busy and takes away from the car. Glad to hear your POV though :)

I like #2 the best. The background really enhances your scooby. Well done!

I like the first shot the best. It's almost jumping out at you.

That third one does it for me. Excellent shot.

I reckon they're all great, well done. It's also a good example of what the kit lens can do for those who don't rate it.

all good shots.
the BG of the second one works but not great for me.
love the lowness of the camera in the first shot. did you try any lower?
the wheel motion in the third is nice. was this done with a camera mount on the outside of the car?

Other than lying the camera on the road, I couldn't get any lower with the tripod I have. I need to order the low angle bogen head, that'll take care of that.
I bought the kit lens later down the road... simply because I desperately needed a cheap wide-angle lens. The quality is far far inferior to the Tamron. It's obvious by the colors and sharpness. (Tamron used on #1 and 2). Also when i was focusing the kit lens it literally felt like it was going to fall apart. i MUST get a good super-wide now.

Love the pix. How was the 3rd (motion pic) taken?

I know its an emerging secret, but I'd rather not say. I wasn't told how to do the shot, rather I had to figure it out myself. The tricky part is getting FAR from the car and maintain sharpness.
Here's a pic i'll share that shows some of the post-processing involved

Yea the Fstop was maxed at 22 (for the kit lens) and i kept an eagle eye on the camera to make sure it wasn't being moved at all.
And since the fstop is the priority in this type of shot (i want the whole car to be in focus), the shutter had to be around 20-30 seconds. Are you saying its too overexposed? Also i know how delicate you are about seeing the movement in the pavement, is that what you're referring to?

Excellent shots.
Shooting cars can be hard, but these shots are really great.

Very nice work indeed. Your Tamron is probably the best lens made that is not a Canon L series. You did very well with that "crappy" kit lens. Just goes to show that the magician is more important than the wand.

Beautiful car, beautiful pictures! My order of preference is #1, #3, and #2. I'm partial to Subarus since I own a 2003 WRX ;). My dream would be to have my engine in your body style. :D

well you got the whole car in focus that's for sure! maybe the pavement has too much blur to it and looks like it was attacked by Neat Image, not sure. Awesome set you shared man! Loving #2 as well, and if the BG seems to be a distraction to many people, dull it a little bit if needed. I think it's fine! (your RS is so clean!)

I like the first one the best. It conveys a certain "don't mess with me" attitude.
Glad to hear you like the Tamron lens. I am awaiting delivery of one.

I think the pavement is way to smooth int he 3rd shot, kind of gives it a cgi/studio feel.
I woul dof liked to see more brakes in that shot aswell, I mean to me those shots are kind of ment to show off some nice brakes.
overall though very good stuff
