Also known as 'Big Blue'....

These were shot with a Canon Digital Rebel XT, using the 'stock' lens for the first shot and a 70-300mm zoom lens for the second shot. I did some programming on the VHF FM radio on the ship, so was allowed to spend as much time as I wanted to spend shooting photos.

I've always wondered how the tail rotor (or lack thereof) worked on those things.

When I shot these, I was shooting in fully automatic mode. I'm going to do some more experimenting sometime with slower shutter speeds to get more blur on the rotors (although I kind of liked it the way it came out :)). I just picked up an image-stabilized lens, so I should be able to do a lot more now at slower shutter speeds.

I'll be shooting a lot of aircraft at an upcoming airshow in Branson Missouri, in May. I'll post some of those here, too.
