S230, Long Shutter mode item missing from rec menu

I am kind of confused about my
Long Shutter mode is not in the rec menu.
The stars and a crescent moon.

Is my firmware old or have I turned off that
option some how?

The white balance button also does not
work to get into the white balance mode, or
the stitch assist mode.

Although the white balance switch works
when it behaves like a delete image button
at play back mode.
Any help will be appreciated.
My camera takes nice photos in Automatic mode.

Oh, got it, I was not in the manul mode.
I did not read the manual correctly as to
how to switch to manual mode.

You must hit the SET button in rec mode to get the
Automatic, Manual, Stitch assist ... menu.
After you select the Manual mode all the menus
will appear.

In manual mode the Long shutter mode item
appears.
