nice shots. that last one is really good. would have looked even more dramatic (though im glad it wasnt) if they were set against a smoking/flaming background.

I supply images to a CFD website and the Department itself and am privileged to a special paging system. A scanner can be just as effective. Since you live close, let me know if you ever want to come downtown and ride around a little with me.

It is a great song Marie. Thought you would like the first one as the difference is the water is shooting OUT of the building, not the other way around. And there is No Jumping Allowed! Thanks!

Very impressive ... so many images of this genre are night shots where the detail is masked although they are often more dramatic. Nice to be able to see what's really going on.

Dwight, you hit it right on the head! This one was rather uneventful though. Thank you.

Nice photos Mills. Standing on the rooftop of a burning building seems to be the most dangerous type of work you can do as a firefighter? If that roof collapses, you are a goner.

Thanks Pradeep1. While is is all dangerous work, in many way's the Truck Companies (the firefighter's assigned to the rig's with a large ladder on them as opposed to the Engine Companies with the hose and water) work in the most dangerous places, above the fire, whether on the roof or in the room above the fire, ventilating and performing search and rescue work. This allows the Engine Companies to get water on the fire. The teamwork is amazing.

I meant to reply to this Mills

now that you mention it ,I wonder how/why the water is shooting upwards with the hose coming out of the roof like that ?

will any of these pictures be used eventually?
(for the museum)

the blue sky looks great too

The fire was IN the roof. Truck Company crews opened the roof to ventilate. Interior crews were directing their streams at the fire in the roof. Many times you will see this as it speeds ventilation of smoke and heat. At this point, the fire was mostly knocked down and they were washing down to make sure it was fully extinguished.

These shots will need to be for next years batch as the Fire Fighter Medal of Honor work for this year is complete. I think that they will like the last on in this series though.
