Some experimentation with Alien Bees and grids. Let me know what you think.

I like it, but was your intention to have the light uneven on her face? Pretty lady BTW.

Yes, I was going for a partial lit, spot light look with light falling off quickly around her.

Thank you,
Ovi

Very nice.

BTW, I was in Florida once, but I don't remember her. (probably because she wasn't born yet)

Oviv,

A very moody shot with a complimentary pose. I see your intention with the lighting but my preference would have been to add a little more light to her pretty face.

Well that would qualify for 75% of the Florida population :-) just kidding Tom!

I like the effect also, very pretty lady.

It's good but I'mn thinking it might look better as B&W. How is it in mono?

I like it but maybe just a bit overexposed now on the cheek and forehead? Which of your lens did you use for this? Maybe I missed it above....

I agree with Hickory. You could try to either use teh burn tool to darken some of the harsh light on her forehead and cheek, or try bringing down the contrast before changing it over to B&W.

I like the image you are going for but, to me, the hard lighting on the forehead and cheek and then the almost instant fall off without a "fade" makes the face standout a little more then is necessary for this type of shot.

You have a good start though.

Given that this is a "studio" shot, I'm sure it looks the way you want it to look ... if you want critique, perhaps it should go in the critic folder. :-) She's pretty but I agree that the lighting isn't flattering.

Thanks for the input guys. I do appreciate it. I don't mind critique at all but posted it here rather than in critique because I was more sharing than anything. I used my 17-40L for this one.
