This was just a test shot testing my new to me 17-50 f/2.8 Tamron lens on my new 40D.

this is straight from the camera, just resized for the web.

A little of that focal length goes a long way! I think you'll need f/4 to f/5.6 for it to work.

Nice lighting on the fascia. The antenna/pole/light create a whole lot of unfortunate distractions.

expanding on this? A little of that focal length goes a long way! = Don't overdo the use of a wide angle. Sometimes you need it. Most times you don't.
I think you'll need f/4 to f/5.6 for it to work. = A smaller aperture would keep more of the front end sharp.

Is it a 6.6Litre (403 Olds engine with Auto trans) or TA 6.6 (400 Pontiac engine with 4 speed)?

Pontiac 400 4 speed.
