:o I have just dropped my Canon 16-35mm Lens on the floor causing damage to the UV filter only (Thank God), the problem is I can't removed it from the lens as it took the full impact from the fall. All suggestions welcome.

Try using one of those rubber sheet jar openers to get a grip on the filter. If that doesn't work, press the filter ring against a firm, resilient surface, like an auto tire, and try turning the lens off the filter. If you have access to a large hole saw, cut a 3" dia. hole into a plank, cut the plank in half through the middle of the hole, and secure that around the filter (only!) to serve as filter wrench. As the filter's already damaged, if you need to escalate beyond that, and don't have any large filter wrenches, careful work with a pipe wrench or gentle tapping around the edge of the filter ring may loosen it. Next might be hacksawing a small notch across the front of the ring to let you mate a long lever with it (only if you're sure you won't hit the lens and will be able to make a clean cut. But if you get to that point, you should probably let someone else take the risk and send it to a repair shop.
