(I posted in compact cameras aslo?)I was on vacation to Mexico last week and meet a couple from Italy they ask if i could take their picture he handed me the camera and noticed the camera looked like a G something but it had a fixed " L " series lens on it.Took the picture and zoomed and locked in real quick under indoor conditions. It all happened real quick and never got a model number does any 1 have a thought what this camera could be? In my opinion the camera took a great shot.

I have never owned one but have used one owned by a friend, and talked to other owners. All were well liked at the time, but of the three owners I know of, two have sold and moved up to DSLR's, one collects dust while its owner shoots a g5 (6?). watch craigslist, at one time I wanted one and found several but hundreds of miles away at a time when the gas would have added about 150 bucks. I am not sure what they are going for right now.

Sounds like the Pro1. IMHO the best P&S Canon ever made. I had one.
The mystery still remains why there was never a Pro2.
