Okay, so I'm still new to this photography thing. I love it and am having fun learning. I work as a graphic designer and am being sent to SXSW to take photos for one of our clients who our hosting one of the venues. Now I'm limited on my equipment. I'll have my Canon 40d and my works Canon 20d. I have a 50mm f1.8 and the office camera has two lenses - one is the kit lens, and the other is..well I don't know. It's actually from the Columbus office and I'm in the Pittsburgh office. Nobody there can tell me what kind of lens it is...apparently. I do not have an external flash, only the built in.

I'm going to have to be taking a lot of cocnert shots in different lighting, but most likely it will all be relatively to extremely low lighting. Any suggestions on how to best shoot in this environment to insure I get at least some crisp clear awesome shots? I've been practicing in low lighting with mixed results. I've been able to get some decent shots, but also many are blury. I've pushed the shutter speed faster, and that definitely helps, as well as openning up the aperture as much as possilbe (1.8). Aside from that tips/suggestions/comments on how I should confront the situation (preferably without using the on camera flash if possible). Thanks. Anything helps. Plus I hope I learn something!
