another macro question... 100 canon or 180 tamron?

the canon cost 150$ less..

The Canon 100mm macro is a wonderful piece of glass! Even better than the Canon 180 I think.
I would go for it over the Tamron if I were you.

I have the Tamron, but it really boils down to what you need. The Tamron just offers a little more working distance. I use it only for macro, nothing else. So if you want a dual purpose, such as macro/potrait; then the Canon would be cool..
It really all depends on what you need.
I may purchase a 50mm macro for rainy days, walk around days.
