Well, the weather was not great but between the storms I was able to take a few shots with the new camera and I posted a few for you to check out. Overall I am extremely pleased with the 1D Mark II, the menu system takes some getting used to but after you master it it is easy to use.
This is a camera for control freaks (like me) the amount of control and customization is almost overwhelming, but I love it! What can I say about this camera body that has not already been said by others in this forum? It is expesive, but worth it.
I have a Wedding scheduled later this month so my goal is to learn the camera inside and out before then, my trusty 10D is now my backup body.

I think you should send me the camera for further testing. Congratulations!

Very nice and HUGE pics.
For now I can only dream but my day will come...as soon as the price comes down just a bit. I dont forsee it dropping to much to fast untill someone else comes up with something to compete with it.
I thought Nikon would have something comeing out.

Pretty awesome piece of hardware, isn't it. Just the sound of the shutter for the first time is pretty cool. Have you set it to high speed yet and let a burst go. A sound from heaven.

Congrats .... I too enjoy mine. I started with a Rebel 35mm 10 years ago and just fell in love with photography, so I bought the Mark 11 . I am learning all I can and loving it. I am glad I did go to the top of the line when purchasing, now it will be a long time before I out grow this camera :D .

Awesome indeed. I checked out the full resolution image of the lake and the detail is eye catching.

Congrat. I've had mine for about a month now and have shot about 2000 shots with it. I also moved up from a 10D, although I had a D30, EOS 3 and Rebel G before that. In some aspects it wasn't much different than my EOS 3. I like the camera and it does everything and more of the reasons I bought it (fast AF, fast fps, low noise at high ISOs, FULL and bright view finder, etc.) but there are a few things I'm not thrilled about. I don't like the way it requires 2 hands for almost everything, menu selection, opening memory door, changing which memory card is being used and things like th at. I know some pros like it as it keeps things from being changed by accident, but it just slows things down and gets in the way when I'm shooting and want to change something.

I know a lot of the features will be better as I learn the camera more, but as good as the camera is, I haven't quit bonded with it yet like I did with my D30, EOS 3 and 10D. Paticularly the 10D.

I have already seen one result of using it though... at the events I shoot, people's comments have gone from "Nice camera" with my 10D and 70-200 2.8L IS lens to "Wow, that's a serieous camera there" when people see me with the 1DMKII and the same lens. :D So it does get noticed, that's for sure.

Green with envy here. One thing though; your unit hasn't been tested in the southern hemisphere yet. Listen, seriously, as a friend, I could set something up. True.

And a big welcome Sabrina too..

Hi, I just got mine on Monday, and I love it. 10D and 20D both now on ebay. The only thing I've found so far that should be improved (it's been mentioned many times in reviews) is the rediculous way you have to go into custom functions to enable mirror lockup. All Canon need to do, is put a self-timer option in 'drive' to select 2sec delay with mirror lockup. How hard can that be?

One thing I love over the 10/20D is having the ISO visible on the top LCD panel without pressing a button - but could we please have it in the viewfinder as an option?

ps - just seen my credit card statement

Is there a forum on here that gives a little more information about the custom functions. The manual is so vague .

Don't listen to the other people offering further testing of your camera.........You know for a fact that testing of cameras only occur in my house..........the others are just FAKE!!! Don't say I didn't warn you.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! It will be YEARS before I will own a 1 series camera........da*n it I want one!!!
