Didnt know what section to post this but when all else fails go to the Business of Photography!

I am currently making my attic into a photo studio. I am doing this slowly bc im a lil low on cash like every other college student in the world...BUT i need your guys professional help...which color?

http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat3328&PRODID=prd18929

for those of you too lazy to click the site, choices are green, blue, red, or ugly berry purple looking color. ( I have a black, and buying a white)

I can only afford one so choose wisely!

I wasnt sure if there was a certain color that was most commonly used in portrait photography. What's your most used color?

White, add gels for whatever color you want.

Disclaimer - I don't have a studio so this is just theory.

Have you considered painting one of the walls gray? Then you could use it as a base for photographing still lifes, or portraits, etc.

If it was me, I'd go to a camera store and ask for a Neutral Density Card, then take that card to the paint store and say "match this".
