Alright, so there's no photographic merit to this picture, but it is creepy, no?

Taken with my Pro 1 in macro mode.

Caught the little bugger in my bedroom of all places, put him in a little glass dish before he met his demise.

I typically don't kill spiders because they eat the little flying things that try to eat me.

But since this is one of the two deadliest spiders in the U.S., it had to die.

Don't try this at home, kids. Seriously. These things are very dangerous.

There are several things you can do to make this a pretty good image. I'll post a sample if you want.

Yes, I should have mentioned that. These aren't for playing with!

Sure. . . I can e-mail you the full file if you want to mess with it.

Thanks dng...it is a Brown Recluse.

Not even in normal macro mode! I actually had it on a tripod. I didn't realize what it was until I caught it, I just knew it was something different.

Sparker1 - I didn't!!! Hopefully it earns it's name and was a recluse!

Here's a picture I made up to send to people I work with. I stuck him in the freezer for a bit so I could flip him over to get a picture of the fangs.

I'm a nurse and I have had a couple of patients who were bit by this type of spider and they were critically ill. One guy will bear the effects all the rest of his life from his spider bite. Other people can get bit by them and suffer no ill effects at all.
Nice picture by the way. I hope you stomped this guy out, though........
