Some of you may have saw the last thread I posted in this section:

Well now that my studio lighting course has progressed to where we're setting up actual shoots, I brought the same friend in to do some poses and freezes under some real lighting. Let me know what you guys think, c/c is always appreciated.

Those are extremely cool pics! That takes some serious strength and you captured it well!

Great stuff. That little piece of tape in 5, 7, & 9 is bugging the hell out of me, but that's an easy fix, of course.

Thanks man, I see what you mean on that one. That freeze was one of my favorites too.

haha, I musta missed it a few times. I was editing these at 2am last night because I couldn't sleep so I was bound to mess up. I did get it out of a few of them lmao. It's just a mark on the platform to show the center.

Nice shots! But they are croped to tight for me. There is no room for him to "move".

Yeah, that was my biggest issue when shooting. Since a lot of the freezes were very quick it was too hard to set up a single composition and let him do his thing while I shot. I was constantly changing the zoom, focus, and vertical-vs-horizantal composition to keep up. I thought about 'chopping some extra space around a few of the pics to see how it would look...

You can change the crop in post. It is easy with a white background. As long as you have made it true white. Just use the crop tool, but rather than make it smaller, make it bigger. It will fill with white (this is why it has to be true white.) I would do an edit for you, but I am replying on my iPod touch.

I really don't like his expression in any of them; it's completely without life, emotion, movement, feeling.

His ability to do what he does is impressive, but like the above poster, it feels too static for me. Also, I find it weird how he is looking straight at the camera for most of these shots. The photos don't convey any sense of dancing or movement, but rather statuesque posing.

Yeah, that does make sense, didn't even think of it that way. This is why I love this forum haha
And thanks for that edit Mark, I do like that a bit more.

i just realized the same thing. he is looking into the camera all the time except in image 4 and it does look a bit more dynamic. either way i still love the shots
