What is your guys opinion on this older 300mm F4L without IS.
How much do you figure they are worth?

The 300/4L non-IS is rumored to be slightly sharper than the IS version in general, although I personally would not trade my IS version for one.
They typically seem to go for around $700-750 in good condition.
I follow the FM buy/sell quite a bit, and it looks like that one in Canada you inquired about is a pretty good deal. That's about a $250-300 savings over the IS model, and you can trade up later if you decide you want IS probably without losing anything on this purchase.
Oh, I just noticed you're from Canada too. What are you waiting for? :D

I would buy the IS version, not much diffence in a price point.

also the IS version focuses a lot closer than the Non-IS. I'm looking at an old non-is version for this lens for the future (because it's slightly sharper)
I've seen some incredible samples from both.
