Alright here is the story, I am traveling to NYC the first week of April, my sons show choir trip (lots of walking sight seeing trip) I need a bag to carry my camera and stuff on the plane but also to carry around NY.
I have a Canon backpack but hate trying to work out of it, have to take it off each time to access camera or lenses, I don't plan to have the camera around my neck all week (dang tourist :D)

I have been reading everything here I can find on peoples sugestions and have looked at a lot of different bags, and still not sure.

I don't have a ton of gear but will be expanding in the future, to more bodies and lenses. Right now I have
Canon 40D gripped
70-200mm f2.8
Nifty fifty
17-50mm f2.8 Tamron
Canon 550 flash
plus 5 cf cards (3-2mg, 2-4mg) and other misc.

I was thinking the UD60 (I have a 16 inch widescreen laptop) but not sure if I want to carry it around all week, yet on the other hand I like to have most if not all my stuff with me.

Smaller bags consider would be the Crumpler 6mdh (local store selling them for 84.00) or the 7mdh
I am not a fan of the lowpro, tamarac stuff due to it looking so much like a camera bag
Really trying not to look like Im carring 5000.00 of camera equipment with me in NYC

Any more sugestions?

A 16 inch laptop won't fit in the 7MDH. I have a 13" Macbook and it JUST fits in my 7MDH after reorganizing the padding. (Fitting only my XTi, flash, 50mm, and 28-755mm) It fits A LOT more when my laptop is not in there. It looks awesome though. Doesn't look like I'm carrying a thousand dollars worth of equipment inside at all. The only other thing i can think of for a reasonable price that holds a laptop is the Tamrac 5535 Adventure Messenger 5, but that also is only supposed to fit up to a 13" laptop. Theres the Crumpler Brazillian Dollar Home, but it costs $280..

This is the Lowepro Classified series, the 140 0r 160. The 140 will hold a body with attached lens, and at least one other lens or a flash. You can take it out during the day or evening and leave other equipment in the hotel safe. Very compact and does not look like a camera bag. I would also get the Pacsafe 100 strap which contains two thin steel cables and is completely resistant to thieves who will cut your strap with a boxcutter and pull your camera off you. I used it in Middle East bazaars without a worry.
