USB question

is pulling or inserting the usb while the camera (ixus v3) is on harmful to the port? is it safer to turn the camera off before removing/inserting the usb?

In answer to your USB question, I used to connect my A40 Powershot using the USB cable. I would connect it and disconnect it a number of times every day without it doing any harm to the port. If your camera is new you shoudn't worry about that. I now have a USB card reader and so it saves a lot of hassle. And no, you don't need to turn the camera off as with all USB peripherals.
