I was wondering if a piece of software existed that would be an image library that can be searched and can be contributed to by multiple users, and require a user to log in before seeing any pictures?

The main thing is that it has to be able to hand 10-20 users/contributors, needs to have key wording ability, and a way to search for keywords....

Does such a thing exist?

Thanks :)

There are solutions out there but they aren't cheap.

Photoshelter MU would do what you want - price from about $250US/month I think.

Not cheap eh, that's like a 580ex II a month, a year would get you (almost) a 300 :p:p

I was thinking more along the lines of a PHP or ASP engine.....

Mentalto's Gallery (http://gallery.menalto.com/) is a PHP gallery that is very popular. You can easily do what you like with it. Including comments, individual user galleries vs. Uploading to the same place -- with ownership, rights, etc...
