Before my new 55-250mm IS lens, I tended to use the Tamron that was bundled, when I bought the 400d, a lot.

Most: 70-200 2.8 IS
Least: 50 1.8 (almost obsolete since i got the siggy 1.4, but i doubt ill ever sell it, maybe give it away as a present or so, maybe ill keep it, im getting a 450D converted to IR soon and having a lightweight fast IR combo would be neat)

most: 24-105 IS L
least: 200 2.8 L. A great lens, I am glad I have it, but it is for really long indoor candid shots where flash is at the edge of usefullness or not allowed. Sometimes I double it, but with out IS it is hard to use in those conditions. Definitely better to go to the 100-400, it is at 5.6 at 400mm also but carries IS. But we are out of the realm of long indoor low light shots at that stage, and thats really what the 200 was bought for. It fills a very narrow range of usefullness between the 135L and the 100-400 the way I(don't) use it.

This is fun.
Most: Sigma 18-50 EX DC Macro
Least: Canon 50 f1.8 -- but just because I use it the least doesn't make it any less valuable. It's my favourite when working with the strobes in my mini-studio...

Since i got the 17-55mm lens, my usage of the 50mm 1.8 dropped like a rock. I always stopped that lens down to f/2.8 for DOF purposes and almost never shot with it wide open. So I returned it to my friend.
Before I got that lens, the 70-200mm I was borrowing got the most use since it had 2.8 and IS. I hated to have to put on the 18-55mm since it was so slow and because I couldn't zoom in more than 24mm or else I would lose critical aperture.

My lenses, In order from most to least used.
1.) Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8
2.) Canon 100mm Macro F/2.8
3.) Canon 28mm F/1.8
4.) Canon 70-200mm F/2.8L
While I really really like the 28mm, I tend to only use it very specific low-light situations. Can't seem to force myself to use it "just because".
The 70-200mm is really nice, especially when I need it, but I find very few occasions to use it.

But if I rent a lens for a weekend, it gets most useage, that weekend.
And I think me and the 135 F/2.0L are gonna spend alot of quality time this summer.

Perry, you were part of the reason I 'risked' it--sold off the 50mm f/1.4 and 35L and dove into the 50L. This is my FAVORITE focal length--has been since my early days of film, and this lens just doesn't disappoint--what was I so afraid of!!. Someday I may do the same with the 85L--cuz I love what I see done with it and love my lowly 85, but just not there yet as I don't use this FL as much yet to justify the cost. Plus the weight is a bit scary on that one--it's like 2.5lbs or something! :D

Yay! I feel the same about the focal length and I think the same thing - why didn't I get this lens earlier!
The 85L is frickin' awesome though. I do the vast majority of my work with it and it's just the greatest lens I've ever had the pleasure of owning.

I only have 2 lenses, a 70-200 and 10-22, but I use them both quite equally. I love them both and probably use the 10-22 more lately because I've been focusing more on landscape shots, but even then the 70-200 comes out of the bag enough.
At this point, if I had a third lens I don't even know that I'd use it.
