How are you trying to retrieve the movies from the camera? What error are you receiving?

I am down;oading from a UBS port directly to my computer. I have 6 pics to download- which it does- but when it hits the videos portion on the camera it says" Scanner and Camer Wizard" and beneath a large red "X" with " An error occured during picture transfer"

Thanks eightiron

What software are you using to download your videos? Is it ZoomBrowser? I haven't actually tried doing that, I just use it for the still images. I presume the videos you are recording are on a CF card or similar and what is a CR-R, do you mean a CD-R? Do you have access to a USB card reader? I have one, and that's what I use to transfer my videos onto the hard disk. Then I use something like Easy CD Creator 5 to burn the files onto a recordable disk, using drag and drop.

It sounds like you are using Windows' built-in "Camera and Scanner Wizard" to retrieve your files. Is this correct?

What version of Windows are you using, and what drivers are you using?

As many others probably do, I would recommend that you use a CF reader. You generally have less problems in the long run, and the transfer from the CF card is faster than using the camera. You should be able to find a CF reader for about $20US.

Don't know if you've seen this in ZoomBrowser or not but here it is anyway. When you download a video clip file from the camera window to the Browser display area, a thumbnail is displayed, still with the associated movie symbol. Double-clicking on the thumbnail launches the movie in the Quicktime player.

It seems that installing Quicktime is the easiest way to play videos on your computer. Mine came with the canon solutions disk.
