Which flash to keep.

So I have ended up with 2 flashes. A 430ex and a 550ex. I don't really do any flash photography, but would like to keep one around for the odd occasion I might need one.

Which should I keep and which should I sell to help finance another lens? I am leaning toward keeping the 550. Simply cause it is more powerful and can be used as a master down the road if ever needed.

The master/slave thing is irrelevant if you only have one flash.

They have different interfaces. Practice with both and keep the one you find easier to use.

You have a nice 2 flash setup now, so you might want to keep them both. If you only want one, the 550EX has more power but it is much larger and the ergonomics are not nearly as smooth as the 430EX that uses only one button to swivel. I think in your case, keep the 430EX and sell the 550EX, but you can't go wrong either way.
