This was my first attempt at shooting more than one child at one time. I have them coming back for a second sitting on Thursday.

I would love to know where i could go better here. This shot was done last min.. kind of showed up unannounced.. Which is why i was not prepared and rushed as i had another appointment to rush off to which is why they are coming back Thursday.

I would like to apologize for my comment upfront .... but pic #2 made me think ...

"oh no ... look ... its GODZILLA"

just the looks on their face and the angle ... once again I apologize.

Yea i kind of thought that too.. lol

It was very difficult to shoot them so much going on in my place at the time and they could not stay looking at the camera. :(

I do not envy you at all in those regards ... it is so hard to keep them still and looking (and smiling) in the same direction at the same time. Hopefully they have a little more hair styling for the bangs next sitting ... that will be tough to get a good capture with a lot of hair over their eyes. Good news is that you don't have to worry about anything but the posing, everything technical on your end (exposure, lighting, etc) is spot on.

If I were in your situation ... I would be surfing the net looking at 'sample' images for posing multiple children, especially this young. But I don't have any experience with children this young, so I seek out inspiration :) (not that your posing is bad ... I personally would like to know different options, no reference to your posing at all). Best of luck man, show us what you come up with when they come back for 2nd shoot.

It would be cute to get one of the big sisters kissing the baby on each cheek, then it gives them easy direction and you only have to get the baby to look. Its also alittle less posey which tends to show the kids personality alittle more.

I like the third one best. The girls are adorable and I love the little print dresses they are all wearing. I think you did a nice job with the lighting too. Looking forward to seeing what you get from the next shoot.

I would love to see the same kind of poses - only with a black backdrop... Having the girls looking straight into the lens. Try using a toy that the baby LOVES, it would certainly help to grab her attention. Great shot for last minute though... post second try when completed.

Overall a good concept and photos. Getting 3 kids to look in the same direction at the same time can be a nightmare. #2 is funny and a keeper.

When my daughter was an infant. I would ring a bell to get her attention.

lose the flower, making a weird noise or having a squeaky thing will usually get their attention. I often bark or meow, don't laugh it makes them look!!

do you have a remote? Sometimes if they think you are not 'shooting' ... you can get some good portraits. Walk away from the camera and start talking about a cartoon they like, or opening presents or something, their attention will be on you and also you can watch for the perfect smile and push the remote. Just an idea I had.
