1st try at "Strobist-style" lighting. 50D, Tamron 28-75 f/2.8. Single 430EX on a stand w/ white umbrella. Sorry about similar poses, the rest are not really suited to this thread.

Lighting is fine. Watch your crops/framing though. Especially on the first one. Way too cramped towards her chin.

I agree...the 1st is cropped to tight...the 2nd I think is very nice, lighting/shadows good...attractive model.

I like the second one..well exposed. In the first one there is loss of skin detail on the side of her face.

You might not have the ability to do much about it, but it would also be great if you could do something about your background. The colours of the wall and (is it a bed or a) couch are difficult to work with and creating distraction from the subject.

Did you post the rest somewhere else? Artistic nudes is in my opinion a tough thing.

Not yet Michael, I'm still working on PP some blemishes and brusies from her. I'll submit a link to them soon...

I can only wish... She works on a printing press line and is relatively fair skinned. Gets banged around alot... I never even thought of that aspect. Guess you gotta watch what you say and how you say it. And I have no G&N posting privileges. I can't seem to figure out how to attach examples of my work to the application.

Hey Tinner. I agree about the crop on #1. I think there's still more for modesty, if you didn't crop too closely in camera, if you open up the crop a bit more. The second is far better from a crop perspective, and the lighting is better. As mentioned, you're a bit too hot on #1.

nice start though.
