When I was a boy (long years ago) this old gate guarded a path into a field which I had to cross to get to my favorite swimmin' hole on the Little Red River in Arkansas, U.S.A. Someone had replaced it with another gate, but left this one hanging, still attached to a fence post. Knowing my love for things from the past, my wife and daughter received permission to retrieve the gate, and gave it to me for a very special birthday gift. NO, it didn't cost lots of money,(actually none); and No, its not something everyone would want. But for me, it's a reminder of many "happy trails" explored, many fun times, and a link to my boyhood. It now guards the path to our barn, and each time I pass thru it, I relive a litte bit of the past. I was just messin' 'round with some filters and took the pic of the old tire and wheel. Thought it was sorta different.
