I am still fairly new to photography...but Have a question..I have been wanting to buy a nice lens, I recieved an E-mail from a woman who was wanting to sell some studio equipment. I ask a friend (Chuck) to go and look at it with me. We looked at the stuff and I ended up buying it...here's what I got:

2-White Lightning Ultra 1200 series lights.
2- Photoflex Tripods.
1- Photoflex Softbox (Large Rectangle).
2- White Lightning Radio Remotes (Transmitter and Reciever).
2- White Lightning Umberellas (White w/ Black removable).
1- Manfrotto boom (less the sandbag). (On Ebay-No use to me)
1- Cloth case for lights/tripods.
1- Hard case for the light assembly.
2- Studio Backdrops (10X10).
8- Full size bed sheets for backdrops (Various colors).
1- Canvass backdrop with two arched lattices and flowers on it.
2- Rolls of velvet type backdrops.
2- Boxes of various small props (hats/banner/throws).(On Ebay-No use to me)
1- Wein Hot shoe to Hot shoe Safe Sync. (On Ebay- No use to me).

Bought it all for $650.00 I was wanting to know for sure is this a good deal or not, or should I have gotten a lens instead. What a better place to find out than here from you guys and gals. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have.

Stephen.

I have 4 WL ultra 1200s and those are great lights. I've had'm for over 15 years with very few problems.

The 1200s use to sell for around about that a piece. Great deal I'd say.

Info still available at White Lightning - http://www.white-lightning.com/retired.html

Looks like a pretty good deal on some fairly powerful lights.

You did not tell us the main thing; how old is the stuff. If it is relatively new then this is a good deal. But I personally would refrain from buying strobes that were sitting idle for some number of years. My main concern would be the state of the capasitors.
