Hi, I am new to DSLR. I have a Canon 300D and purchased Sigma 28-300mm Macro lens. I seem to get shake even at 28-35mm settings and even with flash. Is this common? Is there a better all-in-one zoom lens because I am averse to changing lenses :( . Thanks.

Lenses with such a wide range usually aren't the best quality, but shouldn't be any different from any other lens with respect to camera shake. Can you post a picture, and the exif settings (eg iso, shutter speed, aperture etc), so we can have a look?
I don't think any lens in that price range will be much better, but you could get an IS lens, which helps compensate for shaky hands. Otherwise you can use a tripod.

You shouldn't get shake at such wide angles unless your shutter speed is too slow.

Thanks for the input. Really appreciate it. The pic I uploaded is just a smaller version of the original file. Not a great pic, just got the lens a few days ago. Taken in Av mode, shutter speed- 1/1000, Av-8.0, Lens- 28-300, ISO-300, Focal Length- 300. Maybe I should get the Canon 28-135 IS although its a bit pricier, but seems like it has good reviews.
Thanks again.

That's resized too small for us to be able to see anything. Can you post a couple of 100% crops showing the blur? You sure about the ISO setting? 300's an odd one. The exposure sounds about right for ISO 100 on a sunny day, and the shutter speed"s fast enough that you'd need to be really unsteady to get camera shake.
