How does it compare to SD800? Is it worth to upgrade from SD800 to SD880? Thanks.

More pixels, very slightly more zoom and a later processor mainly. Are you feeling the SD800 coming up short anywhere? If so, where? Maybe the SD880 will, or won't, address the matter. Unless you're dissatisfied with the SD800, I'd suggest keeping your money at home.

Thanks Jon. I guess I'll keep using the SD800 until it stops working then. :)

I love my SD800. I went through 6 cameras last year trying to replace it. They're all gone, and I've still got the 800 :-)

It's a solid camera. I like the 28mm at the wide end.

I had the 800 and upgraded to the 880. They are both excellent cameras although I feel they suffer from a little too much noise at times.

The best thing about the 880 is that it records movies in the .mov H64 format (as opposed to the 800's AVI). The movie quality is excellent, and the files are a fraction of the former model's size.

The most annoying thing about the 880 is the controll wheel. While it makes accessing/selections much easier, i find that it is very easy to rotate accidently if i am not carful with how i grip the camera.

All in all, I enjoy the 880 very much (I plan to pick up the waterproof case soon). But unless shooting movies is important to you, you would be fine to stick with the 800.

Thanks for the info. I am keeping the SD800 until a better option is available.

Yeah, another vote for the 800. I just pulled my back out and put it in my bag when I go about. Need to lighten my load of heavy gear. Still a great camera. Glad to hear you're keeping it till dies. Enjoy.

I sold my SD800 due to its infamous blinding flash which cannot be adjusted and blinds you and whites out faces. There were suggestions of covering it with a napkin etc. etc... It was a fine p&s during daylight non flash hours.

Did they fix the flash issue in 870 and 880? Or it is still the same?
