View Full Version : Myth Confirmed --- Desert Moose

There is a myth circulating in the desert about a Moose that became infatuated with a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The story goes that a child resulted from the union, and it lives in the desert.

Today, I spotted the creature. Luckily, I had my camera in the car and was able to snap a few quick photos before it trotted off, leaving only a puddle of oil where it had once been standing.

Unluckily, the sun was directly overhead, and with all the shadows and reflection off the chrome, the pictures turned out poorly.

Nonetheless, we can't all be CharlesU, so I'm sharing the photo with you.

Now that I'm back in my chair after rolling around the floor in laughter....Do you know what it means when your moose stops piddling oil on the ground? ............It's out of oil.

Its not miles to the gallon stoney, its "Buckets of Feed to the Mile" and I bet with all that extra wind resistance its not too high.

good capture Tom .
you didn't really need the light to be perfect for a shot of that
you could have done it in the dark (http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)
and we would have still seen it

some would say get a life (as I think I hear around here... under some breaths)http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif
but you got a wife
and that's enough for any moose

did you watch Prince Charles wedding ?
(you mentioned the wife was going to keep you up all night and I presume it wasn't the udder)http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gifhttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gifhttp://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Thanks, Marie.

Yes, indeed. We watched the whole thing---twice. It was a lovely affair, but a little tough to stay awake through since things that happen over there during the day tend to be in the middle of the night here. Having stayed up the night before to watch the Pope's funeral means two nights in a row with little sleep, but that's a small price to pay for staying abreast of current affairs. In fact, this nocturnal way of life tends to be the norm for me, anyway. It's currenlty 3:45am and I'm wide awake now.

Guess I'll turn on the tv and see what's happening in Europe.
